Spice It Up

Equal Animals is a five-piece funk rock band from South-Holland, The Netherlands. Their music balances intensity and playfulness, with lyrics that reflect on the world around them without losing sight of fun.Formed in February 2025, the band grew out of years of playing together in their earlier project Madame Jeanette. That shared history translates into a natural chemistry on stage and a clear, defined sound.After a rather succesful debut release Check Surroundings for Safety, new self-produced material followed that continued to build on the momentum that the first single created. Moving forward, the band worked alongside sound engineers Teike van Baden and Joram Pinxteren at Legacy Studio to record their first EP Fat Cats which will be releasing on the 29^th of May 2026.Since their inception, the band has performed at numerous venues, most notably Poppodium 013. Their live shows are direct, energetic and built around connection, with a focus on getting people involved rather than watching from the sidelines.
